the popular song in 2011 called "written in the stars" was proven by a Japanese writer that it was based on a Japanese show named "tengen toppa gurren laggann" later on many people came to watch the anime and noticed the similarities and then spread the word to all others

This is suspected to be a rumor because it was on a wiki edited by a mere commoner and no one knows if it was actually based on the anime

but in my opinion I say yes it is because if you take a look at the lyrics you can see the similarity's between the singer and Simon
